With six miles of lakeshore, the Garden features 27 distinct gardens and four natural areas, including woods and a prairie. The wonders of the season come alive here, with sunny winter aconite unfurling in the winter and creamy sweet alyssum providing nectar for honeybees in the spring. On 385 acres, you’ll find places of inspiration (near the waterfall or the Island of Everlasting Happiness) and nature play (on rolling hills, in a willow tunnel).
Year-round, people of all ages and abilities participate in free family programs, adult education classes, summer camps, and spring break camps. The Garden provides horticultural therapy for veterans and others, and jobs in sustainable urban agriculture. Garden scientists work on critical conservation research projects worldwide. On the Regenstein Learning Campus, visitors of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds will engage in plant-based learning and activities, along with health and wellness options.
